| We are purchasing a home next month and I am looking into a heater for the pool. I thought gas was best until I started reading about heat pumps. Are they good for this area? It is an in-ground pool. Fairly large but I do not know the size at this time. Screened in, partial shade. |

Dear Florida Bill: Thank you for writing to us. Congratulations on your new home. You are correct that heat pumps are the best way to heat in Florida. Gas is too expensive and is not made from titanium so it can be hurt by pool PH and chemicals. I will write you a personal letter to tell you about my favorites for Panama City.
