Thank you for writing. I am not sure what you mean by the over flow. No water should ever come out of a heat pump unless it is condensation from heating the pool. sometimes if the heat pump is not prepared properly for the winter the heat exchanger cracks from water freezing inside it and then in the spring they leak. That is a repair that you never want to see as it is very expensive. If you send me a photo of the leak maybe I can help diagnose it.
