Hello,

I am doing some research regarding the heat capacity of a heat pump required for my 34 cubic meter 9000 gallon pool (34k liters).
What is not clear to me is the following:
Assuming the right sizing for my pool is about 27k BTU (8kW), If I purchase a stronger 58 BTU (17kW) pool heat pump will the pump require less daily operating hours to warm the pool to a desire temperature?
ps. (I understand that the 58BTU heat pump requires higher input power thus it will consume more electricity per hour) .

Thank you

Lambros,

Yes, more heating power will get the job done more quickly, thus, the pool heat pump will run less often.  The increased electrical usage is minimal.  Hope this helps.
